Trip to the NW corner Sept. 4th - 6th 2009

We first went to my parents home Friday
night. Then Saturday the Wallace family
came over and we went to the market in
Anacortes, then to Ferndale to see their new home,
and back to my parents for another night before heading home.

Garin, Brian and Zeke, catching up with the 'guys'.

Campin' Mt. Rainier Aug. 21-23 2009

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary we
decided to go on a camping adventure. We arrived late
at night and Ohanapacoch was full so we found an off road
fire pit for our first night. There was hispanic music playing loudly
next door, but we thought that for sure by 1 or 2 am they
would turn it off.

Just as we 'deflated' our tent about 9 am it was
suddenly quiet. Our guess is that the battery for the car that
blasted mariachi music all night must have finally died!

So, then we drove over to the camp
ground and found a place to spend our next night...
we still had smiles and ready for our day, hopefully!

After setting up camp again, we drove
up to Sunrise.

That evening was wonderful with the fire, Hudson went to sleep
in the tent and we stayed up visiting for a bit. But, then we were
woken up about 2 am from Hudson screaming at the top of his lungs!
There was nothing we could do at first and then we heard the neighbors,
"Hello, the camp" I was horrified to think that we had become
"The Camp"!
They just wanted to make sure he was O.K., and eventually we
did get him back to sleep, and Brian was fast asleep.... I think I might
have eventually, but it was a rough night!

The next morning we told the neighbors how sorry we were...

...how could you not forgive this face?
